Vegetarians, vegetable smoothies and grilled cheese

Within the past six months, I shifted my way toward a vegetarian diet.  It is still challenging to maintain because of my life-long (bad) habits and distaste for vegetables.  Good thing they have grilled cheese!  It's not the healthiest but helps me stick to a vegetarian diet.  With that, I'm broadening my taste and learning to like vegetables.  I try to incorporate veggies creatively or I hide them in things (hopefully healthy things).  In the mornings, I usually have a Spinach Smoothie (2 cups spinach leaves 3/4 almond milk, 1/2 cup frozen berries and 1 banana). I never would have thought I'd eat raw spinach that wasn't drowning in salad dressing...

The Turkish Getup

This is a great, full-body exercise that requires balance, strength and flexibility.

Proper form is important!

The Getup can be performed with a Kettle Bell, barbell, dumbbell or even a sandbag.  Short on weights?  A jug of water will do that trick!  Pair this with burpees for my favorite workout!

There's an app for that!

Taking a smartphone into the gym is becoming more common, potentially annoying for everybody else but may be useful if it's equipped with an app similar to JEFIT.  JEFIT simplifies fitness by providing a database of exercises, fitness routines for certain goals and a virtual place for users to share information.

The Exercise Database allows users to browse exercises for different muscle groups.  Each exercise has an image of the exercise, the equipment needed for the exercise and steps to complete it.

The Routine Database makes it easy for somebody who doesn't want to have to organize a workout routine but has certain goals.  The database consists of routines for beginners looking for a basic workout to an athlete looking for a sport-specific routine.
